OvisLink Call Center headset Quick User Guide

  1. The headset is equipped with a Quick Disconnect cord to connect to telephone’s headset jack directly. No adapter, amplifier and driver are needed to operate.
  2. Insert the connector into the headset port of a compatible telephone.
  3. Adjust the length of the headband and turn the earpieces slightly until the headset fits comfortably.
  4. On models with only one earpiece, position the T-bar above your ear.
  5. To optimize the position of the microphone, adjust the microphone rod so the microphone is close to the corner of your mouth and the white dot at the microphone should be facing to your mouth.
  6. Attach the clothing clip at a comfortable level to keep the headset properly positioned and free from the cord’s weight.
  7. To answer an incoming call, dial a call press the headset button on the keypad of the phone.
  8. To hang up the call, press the headset button on the phone’s keypad again.
  9. To switch from the headset to the phone’s handset, pickup the handset from the hood.
  10. To switch from the handset to the headset, press the headset button on the phone’s keypad than put the handset back to the hood.

OvisLink Call Center Training adapter Quick User Guide

The training adapter’s configuration for different telephone brands and models are different.

Scenario 1: The telephones has RJ9 headset jack. The OvisLink headset works with your telephone has a YELLOW tape at the RJ9 connector.

  1. Set the switch next to the TEL port on the training adapter at “1” position.
  2. Connect the TEL port to your phone’s headset jack with the short RJ9 cord comes with the training adapter.
  3. Connect two OvisLink headsets to the port A and port B at the training adapter with OvisLink quick disconnect cords with Yellow tape at the RJ9 connector.
  4. Press Mute button A to mute microphone of the headset connected to port A. Press Mute button B to mute the microphone of the headset connected to port B.

Scenario 2: The telephones has RJ9 headset jack. The OvisLink headset works with your telephone has a BLUE tape or RED tape at the RJ9 connector.
  1. Set the switch next to the TEL port on the training adapter at “2” position.
  2. Connect the TEL port to your phone’s headset jack with the short RJ9 cord comes with the training adapter. Connect two OvisLink headsets to the port A and port B at the training adapter with OvisLink quick disconnect cords with BLUE or RED tape at the RJ9 connector.
  3. Press Mute button A to mute microphone of the headset connected to port A. Press Mute button B to mute the microphone of the headset connected to port B.

Scenario 3: The telephones with 2.5mm headset jack.

  1. The training adapter does not have 2.5mm jack for headset. You need to use a RJ9 quick disconnect cord instead of a 2.5mm quick disconnect cord.
  2. Set the switch next to the TEL port on the training adapter at “2” position.
  3. Connect the TEL port to your phone’s headset jack with the short RJ9 to 2.5mm cord comes with the training adapter.
  4. Connect two OvisLink headsets with a quick disconnect cord has BLUE tape at the RJ9 connector to the port A and port B at the training.
  5. Press Mute button A to mute microphone of the headset connected to port A. Press Mute button B to mute the microphone of the headset connected to port B.

Telephone headset problems and solutions.

    Problem: No sound out for speaker and microphone

    Reason 1: The headset model is not compatible with the telephone.

    Solution: Find your telephone’s brand and mode from the back of the telephone. Click at the compatible brand name on the left column of www.ovislink.com. Different headset models will show on the web page. Find your phone’s model under the headset images and click at the headset image will bring you to the headset model detail page. If it is not the one you purchased, contact support@ovislink.com to exchange to the correct headset model.

    Reason 2: Didn’t use the headset correctly.

    Solution: Connect the headset to the telephone’s headset jack directly. Press the headset button on the telephone’s keypad to get dial tone, answer a call and hang up a call. Do not pick up the hand receiver from the telephone hood. Some telephone models use speaker phone button as the headset button. Some telephone use soft button for headset, some have to program a headset key before you can use a headset. Refer to your telephone user manual for details.     Problem: headset speaker works but microphone doesn’t.

    Reason 1: The headset model is not compatible with the telephone.

    Solution: Find your telephone’s brand and mode from the back of the telephone. Click at the compatible brand name on the left column of www.ovislink.com.     Reason 2: If the headset is connected to the telephone with 2.5mm headset jack, the 2.5mm connect doesn’t all the way into the headset jack.

    Solution: Push the 2.5mm connector hard to the phone’s headset jack until hear two click sounds


    Problem: hear statics or noise from the headset.

    Reason 2: May be broken wire inside the headset.

    Solution: Get the headset serial number from the headset cord and email to support@ovislink.com


    Problem: hear echo from when use headset with Polycom phones.

    Reason: echo canceling function is not turned on.

    Solution: To enable the echo cancelling function on Polycom phone:

    1. Press the Menu button on the phone.
    2. Go to Settings.
    3. Go to Basic.
    4. Select Preferences.
    5. Select Headset.
    6. Select Echo Cancellation.
    7. Select Enable.
    8. Once enabled, press the left arrow key to go back to the home menu.
