The result, the Xpresso 1616CD and the 1624CD, became one of the most popular units, filling high bandwidth needs with 16 or 24 ports. Expansion with modules
This Xpresso duo features an optional expansion-slot with a surprisingly large array of modules. With such variety, this module can serve the following needs:
- Extend to distances up to 75 kilometers with single-mode fiber in 3 offerings (either 15, 40 or 75 km)

Match multi-mode pairs with compatible ST, SC, MT-RJ, or VF-45 fiber-modules

Retain legacy equipment with BNC or 10BASE-FL fiber ST connector
Flexible LAN configuration
Configuration of your LAN is quickly accomplished. The Xpresso 1616CD and the Xpresso 1624CD offers port-based VLAN, which easily segments or isolates traffic. This provides security and reduces unnecessary traffic without external devices such as routers. Trunking gives extra bandwidth of up to 400 Mbps between two connected switches. Another feature offers the ability to regulate standard back-pressure and auto-negotiation on individual ports. OvisLink offers the flexibility that you need with the ease of operation that you require.
OvisLink verifies that the Xpresso switches run full wire-speed by using true, non-blocking architecture. Reliability, high bandwidth, and versatile features define the Xpresso 1616CD and the Xpresso 1624CD.
