A lot of different manufacturers make TDM telephones and IP telephones today. These telephones' headset parts may be designed differently. OvisLink specially designs different headsets to be compatible with an assortment of telephone brands and models. If your telephone's model is listed on the compatible list, it will be the right headset for you.

OvisLink Call Center Headset Quick User Guide

  1. The headset is equipped with a quick-disconnect cord to connect to the telephone’s headset jack directly. No adapter, amplifier, or driver is needed to operate.
  2. Insert the connector into the headset port of a compatible telephone.
  3. Adjust the length of the headband and turn the earpieces slightly until the headset fits comfortably.
  4. On models with only one earpiece, position the T-bar above your ear.
  5. To optimize the position of the microphone, adjust the microphone rod so the microphone is close to the corner of your mouth and the white dot on the microphone is facing your mouth.
  6. Attach the clothing clip at a comfortable level to keep the headset properly positioned and free from the cord’s weight.
  7. To answer an incoming call or make an outgoing call, press the headset button on the keypad of the phone.
  8. To hang up the call, press the headset button on the phone’s keypad again.
  9. To switch from the headset to the phone’s handset, pick up the handset from the hook.
  10. To switch from the handset to the headset, press the headset button on the phone’s keypad, then put the handset back on the hook.

Different telephone brands and models may be different. Some of the phones use the speaker button as the headset button. Some of the phones need to be assigned a feature key as the headset button. OvisLink Call Center Training Adapter Quick User Guide

The training adapter’s configuration for different telephone brands and models are different.

Scenario 1: The telephone has an RJ9 headset jack. The OvisLink headset that works with your telephone has a YELLOW tape at the RJ9 connector.

  1. Set the switch next to the TEL port on the training adapter to the “1” position.
  2. Connect the TEL port to your phone’s headset jack with the short RJ9 cord that comes with the training adapter.
  3. Connect the two OvisLink headsets to port A and port B at the training adapter with OvisLink quick-disconnect cords with yellow tape at the RJ9 connector.
  4. Press Mute button A to mute the microphone of the headset connected to port A. Press Mute button B to mute the microphone of the headset connected to port B.

Scenario 2: The telephone has an RJ9 headset jack. The OvisLink headset that works with your telephone has a BLUE tape or RED tape at the RJ9 connector.

  1. Set the switch next to the TEL port on the training adapter to the “2” position.
  2. Connect the TEL port to your phone’s headset jack with the short RJ9 cord that comes with the training adapter. Connect two OvisLink headsets to port A and port B at the training adapter with OvisLink quick-disconnect cords that have BLUE or RED tape at the RJ9 connector.
  3. Press Mute button A to mute the microphone of the headset connected to port A. Press Mute button B to mute the microphone of the headset connected to port B.

Scenario 3: The telephone has a 2.5mm headset jack.

  1. The training adapter does not have a 2.5mm jack for the headset. You need to use an RJ9 quick-disconnect cord instead of a 2.5mm quick-disconnect cord.
  2. Set the switch next to the TEL port on the training adapter to the “2” position.
  3. Connect the TEL port to your phone’s headset jack with the short RJ9 and the 2.5mm cord that comes with the training adapter.
  4. Connect two OvisLink headsets with the quick-disconnect cord that has BLUE tape at the RJ9 connector to port A and port B at the training adapter.
  5. Press Mute button A to mute the microphone of the headset connected to port A. Press Mute button B to mute the microphone of the headset connected to port B.
